The New York Republican Convention, which met at Saratoga, yesterday, adopted a platform favoring a generous policy towards the South; the speedy punishment of offenders in the management of the State canals; opposing further inflation of the currency; "unalterable opposition to the election of any President for a third term," and opposition to sectarian appropriations or perversion of the school fund. Fred. W. Seward was nominated for secretary of State; Francis E. Spinner, comptroller; E. A. Merritt, treasurer; George F. Danforth, attorney general; H. B. Cornell, State engineer and other officers.
