Grand Forks Lions Dedicate Marker at Emerson, Manitoba

Emerson, Manitoba, June 14.—The three thousand mile international border, stretching across a continent, was adorned with a "good will" monument at this border town Sunday, while representatives of the United States and Canada pledged perpetual friendship to one another.

Erected by the Grand Forks, N. D., den of the Lions club, the marker was dedicated when members of the North Dakota club, on their way to the fifth district convention International Lions Club in Winnipeg, stopped here for the occasion.

A poem by Vernon P. Squires of the University of North Dakota was read by Dr. Karl Fussler of the university for the occasion. The poem referred to the border ceremonial as a proof to all mankind "that peace can rule on land and sea, if hearts be so inclined."
