It is a curious fact, storms advance in a contrary direction to the wind. By means of the telegraph it has been noticed that northeast storms make a regular progress from some remote south-western quarter, their arrival at the different cities along the line being telegraphed at intervals as if they were armies or railway train, until after several hours they reach New England, and sweep windward towards Halifax. The subject of meteorology is now receiving close attention from many of our strongest minds.
