The Nash Benefit.
To the Editor of the Globe.

For the information of the public, the St. Paul Lyceum and Dramatic club have ordered their financial committee to make a public statement in full, of all the business in relation to the Nash benefit. The report is substantially as follows--No. of tickets issued, returned, etc:

THE ONE DOLLAR LIST.
Total 374 372 103 $152 50

FIFTY CENT LIST,
Total | 148 | 189 | 98 25 50

Total number tickets issued, 522
Total number returned, 561.
Total number to hear from, 112.
Total cash received $177 50
Total expense. 103 75
, Cash on hand. $ 73 75

The club has in their possession receipts for the above expenses, which are too numerous to place in these columns. The money is deposited in the name of the club, and as Mr. Nash refused to accept what was offered him on a former occasion, the club has agreed to give him ten days to change his mind. At the expiration of that time, if Mr. Nash fails to report to the club his final decision, the club will take steps to dispose of the money to some charitable institution.

We would furthermore wish to state that the club did not receive one farthing of the proceeds, the only recompense that we did receive for our trouble, time and expense was abuse, slander and misrepresentation by the principal for whom the benefit was gotten up.

The delay in making this report before was the result of the difficulty experienced in collecting outstanding tickets, and we hope that this statement fully exonerates the club from all blame, and will show to the public that our action in this affair was honorable in every detail and meriting the approbation of the public.
