formed in Concert with the True Blue; having only drove a French Packet Boat on shore and burnt her: She parted with the True Blue on the 20th, off Cape Florida; and the same Day fell in with a Fleet of 72 Sail, from Jamaica, under Convoy of the Assistance, Lynn, Sphynx, and Hornet Men of War, with whom Capt. Tuder spoke, and was by them informed, that they had taken a large French ship, laden with Warlike Stores, bound for Mississippi, and 3 Privateer Sloops, of 8 Carriage Guns each; and that they had also drove young Palanqui's fine Brig ashore, (mounting 16 six Pounders, with 150 Men) the Owner of which blew her up as soon as she went ashore, whereby 135 of her Crew perished instantly, and of the remaining 15 miserably mangled Wretches that were taken up by us Men of War, more died within 24 Hours after.
