Event Details
A ship formed in concert with the True Blue, drove a French packet boat ashore and burnt her, then parted on the 20th off Cape Florida. It met a fleet of 72 sail from Jamaica convoyed by Assistance, Lynn, Sphynx, and Hornet men of war. Capt. Tuder learned they captured a large French ship with warlike stores for Mississippi, three 8-gun privateer sloops, and drove Palanqui's 16-gun brig ashore, which the owner blew up.
