State Fair Has Top Fun Fest For Visitors

The Million Dollar Midway of the South Carolina State Fair October 22-27 will be the most varied and most entertaining ever presented at the annual fair in Columbia, F. B. Ruff, secretary-manager, reported today.

He said that the collection of rides and feature attractions had been selected to offer thrills and excitement to all age groups.

More than 250,000 admissions are counted each year to the Fair Grounds.

Included in the list of new rides and acts will be The Meteor, a ride that gives occupants a whirling, spinning, dipping and diving experience; The Himalaya Ride which is so extensive that a crew of 15 men is necessary to erect it; and the Frusts Folles, an ice revue, which will give State Fair crowds the opportunity of seeing a first-class ice show on a large portable rink.

Ruff said that the 60,000 square foot Steel building will be crammed with its usual varied collection of exhibits and that the cattle, poultry, etc., swine barns would be occupied by outstanding entries competing for hundreds of ribbons and cash awards.
