Commency, MAY 11.—There has just arrived at the military depot established in this city, a person, attached to the 2d battalion of this army, in quality of blacksmith and farrier, who being born in 1728, is now 82 years old. —His name is Peter Vincent, and he belongs to Rennes; or rather William Vincent, his father, aged 18 years lives there and follows the trade of smith and farrier.—This military mechanic, is only of a middle stature, but robust.—He is of a gay disposition and does not labour under any infirmity.— He is just arrived with his corps from Germany, where he performed the last campaigns.—At the battle of Wagram, as he was proceeding with his usual alacrity to repair some ammunition waggons, which had been damaged by the fire of artillery, his forge was overturned upon him and he suffered considerably; but always jovial, he answered those persons, who enquired after his health, with good humour and vivacity. It is 5 years since Peter Vincent first entered the public service. and he never thinks of retiring, except when desirous of obeying his father. who is continually repeating to him.
It is time for him to establish his business, and who wishes him to settle down at Rennes, leave him, because the rest of his children, who are older than this one, are settled at Paris, and other places at a distance from him.
