LONDON.

Sept. 1. The terms on which the peace has been concluded with the Dutch, may be collected from the resolves of the States of Friesland, at their last meeting, which they ordered to be immediately published: They therein plainly say, they are compelled from necessity either to bind themselves by treaties in chains to the English, or submit to the following ignominious terms, which they, notwithstanding, prefer to the claims of England, viz. Great Britain to retain Negapatnam, to have a free trade in all the East Indian Seas, and a right to be continued of a salute from the ships of the Republick, by lowering their flag, &c. as has been customary,--Peace with Holland on these terms must be universally allowed to be a very advantageous one for this country, the situation of Negapatnam being very convenient for commerce, and the free navigation of the Indian seas, opens a valuable trade in the spice islands, which have been a mine of wealth to the Dutch, who have been the only considerable importers of spice for many years.
