Full Text

Extract of a letter from Baltimore, dated April 10.

Our election for Members of the State Convention commenced on Tuesday last; the Federalists were likely to be taken by surprise; but Doctor M'Henry and Dr. Coulter have carried by a great majority for the town, both federal. Luther Martin for Richmond County, though it is supposed he is not eligible. Judge Hanson and Nicholas Carroll for Annapolis, federal. The Hon. Joseph Gilpin, Col. Hulingworth, Col. Samuel Evans and James G. Heron, Esq. for Cecil County, all federal.

So far as returns have come to my knowledge there will be a large majority of this State Convention federal.
