Division Among Workers Is Hit

GALESBURG, Ill.- "United we stand, divided we fall." That is the advice J. W. Watson, Lodge 285, writes to TRAINMAN NEWS. He deplores the fact, as he sees it, that working men are "divided and discouraged," that wage increases are followed by unjustified price increases for which working people are unjustly blamed and which "causes more and more hatred for organized labor." Referring to prior efforts of the BRT to consolidate with the ORC, Watson, a 30-year BRT member, says, "We, as now organized, are playing into the hands of the railroad companies. Nothing pleases them more than to have conflict between the unions."
