In Chicago Hospitals

CHICAGO-
Charging that 56
Chicago hospitals which
provide
more than 75 per cent of the pri-
vate hospital beds in the city bar
Negroes from their medical staffs,
ten Negro physicians filed a fed-
eral antitrust suit against the hos-
pitals.

Declaring
that Negro patients
were
also
discriminated
against
the suit asked relief "on behalf of
all
Negro
physicians
in
Cook
County
Hospital (Chicago)" and
asked that
the hospitals be re-
quired to lift their bans.
