Norwich, Aug. 26. Last Saturday at One o'Clock, William Gortz was executed upon the Castle-Hill, for Horse-stealing. He was a young Man about 24 Years of Age, exceeding comely, and well proportion'd. He behav'd very decently at the Gallows, but with an uncommon Intrepidity. Just before he was turn'd off, he said, Good People, lewd Women have brought me to this; I lay no Blame on my Wife, and find no Fault with my Parents, for I take all upon my self; let all young Men shun lewd Women, or they will bring them to the Gallows, as they have done me. After he was cut down, he was put in a Coffin, and convey'd from Place to Place, and on Tuesday Night was buried (as it is said) in Heigham Church-yard.
