BISMARCK NOTES.
The people of Bismarck no longer need to cross the Ouachita river to get their supplies. J. M. Hardage and Harrison Dyer have returned from the territory and purchased the old stand in front of J. D. Hobgood's and will soon lay in a full line of merchandise. J. D. Hobgood continues to pass his goods across the counter to the good people, throwing in one of his large smiles by way of a premium.
M. P. Thomas has recently laid in a new line.
The Tisdale Bros. are soon to erect a new building on the corner opposite J. D. Hobgood's on the Keiton lot where they will serve the people with a full assortment of merchandise.
We have a talked of 'phone line via Pt. Cedar, Bismarck and De Roche to Malvern and hope to have a rail road by the time Napoleon crosses the Alps again.
The people will no longer have to climb the big hill or cross the rocky Ouachita or traverse the narrows to secure their wants.
Jas. W. Tisdale has lately been appointed postmaster and we are proud to have a man who is capable of serving the people well.
The young ladies of Bismarck continue to wear those beautiful smiles and are always ready to swap with the handsome young men. During the last moonlight nights our hills and vales rang with the music of the fox hound.
The people still come to Bismarck with a pleasant appearance and plenty of money which shows that they are still in a prosperous condition.
J. M. Thomas.
