Full Text

August 10. Tuesday evening were read at the Rev. Mr. Whitefield's chapel at Tottenham Court Road, several letters from that Gentleman, and a great number to him; but many were obliged to be deferred for want of time.

On Mr. Whitefield's arrival in America, he received letters of congratulation from the more respectable persons of every denomination.

These were followed by an epistolary correspondence, and pressing invitations, as well from the most eminent clergy and others of the established church, as pastors of all sects, without exception, to visit and preach at their respective churches and cures; all which it was his intention to comply with: to his utmost.

Mr. Whitefield had unweariedly preached every day since he disembarked, in various parts of that country, to crowded congregations.

The daily exercise of his function, in the different places he has been importuned to perform, will employ a whole year from this time.

All ranks and degrees of persons are anxious to attend this Rev. Gentleman's ministration, and join in paying him every mark of their affectionate esteem.
