Clark Grads To
Hear Dr. Love
Ninety-two seniors at Clark College,
representing the largest graduating
class in the history of the college,
will hear Dr. Edgar A. Love, of the
Board of Missions, the Methodist
Church, New York City, deliver the
Baccalaureate address at 5:30 this
afternoon in Davage Auditorium.
Dr. Love, who is a graduate of
Howard and Boston Universities,
has made an enviable record while
holding pastorates in the Washington
conference. He is recognized as one
of the most forceful speakers.
Top honors in the class go to Miss
Dora Mae Harris (Magna Cum Laude),
Valedictorian of the class; Miss
Marcella Cain James (Magna Cum
Laude), Salutatorian; Miss Morrell
Johnson (Magna Cum Laude); Miss
Shirley Asbury (Magna Cum Laude),
and Miss Ora Marie Williams (Magna
Cum Laude).
The following students will be
graduated Cum Laude: Winona
Jackson, Ethen Jarrels, George Tate,
Henry Torrance, Florence Wheeler,
and James Washington.
Candidates for degrees are as follows.*
The Senior Class Day Exercises will
take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday,
June 2.
The Reverend Ensworth Reisner,
pastor First Methodist Church,
Milwaukee, Wis., will deliver the
Commencement Address Tuesday
morning, June 3, at 10:30.
The public is cordially invited to
attend these exercises.
Work technique from year to year,
we must also improve in the strategy
of forcing our way to the front of
freedom which is a word some of our
people only hear about in the back
country.
