Full Text
J. H. McGuire, of this city, has been prominently mentioned as a candidate for appointment as state immigration commissioner. Mr. McGuire has been one of the wheelhorses of the Democratic party and is deserving of anything in the line of an appointment which Governor Hammond may have to hand out. More than that this section of the state should in fairness be recognized when it comes to selecting an immigration commissioner instead of having the commissioner always appointed from Northern Minnesota.
