Full Text
That illustrious and immaculate personage, Mr. William Lyon McKenzie, is paying off his debt to the President, for the pardon granted him by the latter. He is out in full blast, electioneering for Mr. Van Buren, and "earnestly entreats" all the Canadian "patriots" to give warm, effective, and cordial support to the government as now constituted. Considering who and what Mr. William Lyon McKenzie is—a foreigner and a pardoned convict—we take this demonstration of his to be pretty considerably impudent.
