Man on the Street.
The Gold Hill News of Friday evening has the following item:
We understand that a man in Virginia City, yesterday afternoon, took offence at an item in the Trespass, and attempted to insult its exec. editor. Mr. F. C. Farngton.
Now, we happen to know that our friend Farngton is not afraid of any man who "walks on two legs or behaves as much "git" as any Downeaster we ever saw. In this instance Frank walloped his man, as total newspaper men are in their right duties for any to attempt to tilt at or to insult.
We reckon that the thin-skinned subjects of Farngton's paragraphs will learn to deal with him kindly hereafter
