Seized by Officers while Being Taken to Bluford's Restaurant.
A teamload of booze, jogging comfortably along towards Bluford's restaurant beyond Fort Ethan Allen, attracted the attention of Sheriff James H. Allen Sunday afternoon. The sheriff was engaged just at the moment in making a search of Samuel Franklin's place on Weston's hill but he figured that a wagon loaded with ten boxes of beer and considerable other wet stuff couldn't get very far away so he made a mental note of the passing team and continued his search at Franklin's. He was assisted by Deputy Sheriff Frank E. Lord. Very little liquor was found at the Franklin house so the sheriff went after his team. State's Attorney H. B. Shaw, in the meantime, had completed some business he had to transact at Fort Ethan Allen and he dropped down to the Franklin place in his automobile and joined Sheriff Allen and Deputy Sheriff Lord. The trail of the wagon loaded with wet goods was easily picked up and the authorities followed the team until it was off the government reservation and then seized the goods. The driver of the wagon was George MaBeth, who was taking the load to Bluford's.
