Full Text

We regret to learn there was not a full attendance of the Hardeman county people at the barbecue at Bolivar, yesterday. This was doubtless occasioned by a misapprehension, some believing that the affair had been postponed till a later day. Nevertheless, there was a very good attendance under the ample grove selected for the speaking, consisting in very large part of the beauty of the surrounding country. Major JOHN H. BULLS, one of the truest men in the country, presided with his usual ability. Addresses were delivered during the day by Dr. LEFTWICH and Hon. TOM. AVERY. Both speakers were in good trim, and acquitted themselves handsomely. In the afternoon, after the feasting, several colored orators were expected to deliver addresses to the large number of colored people in attendance. There was plenty to eat and to spare. Hardeman will give a heavy vote for SEYMOUR AND BLAIR.
