-We learn that a man named Wolf Borrough, who has committed forgeries to the amount of about $20,000 upon Alderman Smith of the 5th ward, D. C. & W. Pell, auctioneers, Wm. Greery and many others, has just been arrested through the persevering and praiseworthy efforts of officer Philo Parmelce. The forgeries were committed some time ago, and the police have been on the alert for the rogue. About two weeks since it was ascertained that the family of Borroughs had removed from their late residence in Williamsburgh; whereupon officer Parmelce started in pursuit, and tracing them through Buffalo county and other places, finally overhauled the forger in Huron District, Canada West, and apprehending him on a bench warrant, arrived here with him yesterday.—N.
