School Kids Lose.

The Senate voted to kill the Hill Amendment 45 to 43. The House passed the compromise bill minus the Hill Amendment. This prevents the school kids of America from having better schools through the use of funds from public oil lands to improve the school system. It has been a long, hard fight for a good cause--for 21 years--and Sen. Lister Hill and his supporters are to be congratulated for carrying the battle for the Oil for Education Amendment to the bitter end. It may be regarded as a victory for the oil lobby at the expense of the school kids of America and their parents.
