They write from Ratisbon, Dec. 26, that in the last Session of the Diet, the Ministers of the Elector of Bavaria, the Elector Palatine, as well in Quality of Elector, as of Count of Lautern, and those of the Bishop of Freyfingen, the Duke of Wirtemberg, and the Great Master of the Order of St. John in Germany, declar'd that they had receiv'd Orders from their respective Masters to vote in their Name, for granting an Aid to the Emperor of 50 Roman Months towards carrying on the War against the Turks. After which the Bishop of Saltzbourg's Minister gave in the Heads of an Act to be drawn up for that Purpose, containing in Substance: That the States of the Empire having maturely considered the present Situation of the War against the Turks, resolved to give his Imperial Majesty powerful Assistance, in order to put him in a Condition to make a vigorous Opposition to the Efforts of so powerful and so dangerous an Enemy, and that they had therefore resolved to grant the Emperor a voluntary Subsidy of 50 Roman Months, and to consider immediately of Ways and Means for raising the same. This Project having been unanimously approv'd of, the Emperor's first dictatorial Minister made an eloquent Discourse on that Occasion, representing the Necessity there was to assist his Imperial Majesty in the present War against the Enemy of Christendom, and exhorting the Ministers of the Diet strenuously to recommend the Affair to their respective Courts.
