GM Local 674 (UAW-CIO) opened an office in Norwood, O. at 4710½ Main av, right near the plant, Regional Director Paul E. Miley reports. Intl. Rep. John Eldon is in charge.
The campaign to sew up the Norwood plants for the CIO swings into high Friday night April 12 with a meeting at the city hall to be addressed by Leo Krzycki of the CIO.
Pres. Charles Gilmann of GM Local 34 has been explaining to the Norwood GM workers that you couldn't find an AFL member in the Atlanta plants with a microscope.
"It is significant," Director Miley says, "that when Ed Hellkamp of the AFL group went into Michigan last week he didn't take up the offer of Sec.-Treas. L. Addes of the UAW-CIO to open the union books and prove that the CIO has the membership in GM all over the country."
