It was moving day recently at the county court house. Tax Collector Clinton Bassett moved his office into the former county commissioners' room on the southwest corner of the building and the office of Tax Assessor Green was moved into the former tax collector's office.
In future the board of county commissioners will use the vacated tax assessor's office as a meeting room.
The new tax collector's office has undergone some changes in preparing it for the new occupants. The walls and ceilings have been repainted in a pleasing shade of light green. A partition has been constructed to divide the office proper from where those having business to transact enter the room.
A new vault was installed some time ago. The light, airy office provides ample space for the various calculators and business machines used in the processes of the office and allows sufficient elbow room for the employees as well.
