King George May Uphold Tradition
London, Dec. 15. - Further evidence that Britain's new king, George VI, plans to follow closely in the footsteps of his father, the late George V, was given in court announcements tonight.
Baron Wigram, adviser to George V throughout the latter's reign, was appointed permanent Lord-In-Waiting to the new sovereign. The post is a newly-created one.
Major Alexander Hardinge was named George VI's private secretary. He was private secretary to Edward VIII and earlier equerry and assistant private secretary to King George.
Earlier it was disclosed the new sovereign would maintain Balmoral castle and the country estate of Sandringham as did his father, as well as the late king's racing stables.
