Top, formerly belonging to a variety of park employees.
An extra gang of about 80 men will in about 10 days more, have the north end of the Alaska Railroad dressed out in new ties, mostly of the sawed variety. Two work trains will be busy until cold weather hauling rock from Yanert siding to widen the railroad fill between this place and Nenana. Most of the way the road bed has been widened out six feet from the head of the ties.
A crew of men with "cats" and horses are working clearing the ground for the new warehouse sites to the east of the main line here. All the buildings on the west of the tracks will be moved to the east side and north, and ground cleared for the new hotel. The one building will have the offices and waiting room for the railroad, offices for the park service, land office, ranger service, and other government bureaus represented here.
Sergeant and Mrs. Geyer, who have been residing at the radio station, have moved into the Osbo residence on Fifth Avenue.
