Full Text
The charge has been made and constantly repeated that the national democratic convention in 1896 abandoned the time-honored position the party had in the past occupied on the financial question. Such charges, after having been made by the "political stiffs" all over the country, were used in justification of a bolt which terminated in the self-constituted convention which met in Indianapolis on the 2d instant.
We reproduce below the declaration of the democratic party on the question made in Chicago in 1892; also the declaration made by the same party in 1896 on the same question, together with the declaration made by the convention made up of bolting "political stiffs" which met in Indianapolis the other day, in order that the reader may read and judge for himself as to who it is that has abandoned the time-honored doctrine of the democratic party on the coinage question.
