RHODE ISLAND ELECTION
The election in Rhode Island for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Members of the Legislature, took place on the 1st inst. It has resulted in the complete triumph of the friends of "Law and Order." The Providence Journal gives the returns from all the Towns in the State, as follows:
Diman's majority over all, 15.
In case of a failure to elect by the people, the choice of Governor and General Officers devolves upon the General Assembly, in both branches of which the law and order majority is very decisive. The Legislature is as follows:
