Full Text

His Excellency Martin Chittenden, Governor of Vermont, has issued a Proclamation, (which will be found in this day's paper) calling home the militia of that state, who have been put under the orders of the United States officers, to defend their own territory.

This must be grateful to the militiamen who have so long been marched and counter-marched, at the behest of Governor Galusha. It is doubly gratifying to the rest of New-England, who now see the whole of her strength in reserve for any invasion which may require its exertion.
