Full Text

Dover, July 2.

Yesterday evening, a ship from Lima, in South America, under convoy of one of our sloops of war, which escorted her the whole of the passage, came into the roads, and landed four passengers, said to be the deputy of the viceroy of that place, with his secretary and two attendants, sent on some very particular mission to their ambassador. The Spanish ship is said to have on board four millions of money, and the sloop of war a great deal of very valuable property. They report that the Peruvians, on finding that the above property was coming to England, became very tumultuous, but were at length quieted without any serious consequences. The above gentlemen are still at the Ship Inn: two of them are dressed in military uniforms, blue turned up with red.
