DAYVILLE BOY SEVERELY HURT BY SAW MILL BELT

Encouraging reports have been received in regard to the condition of Hosea Lefevre, 19-years-old Dayville youth who was severely injured at Goodyear last Wednesday when the belt of a portable saw mill broke, lashing him in the face.

Lefevre was taken to the Day Kimball Hospital after the mishap.

Physicians said that the whipping belt had crushed his facial bones, destroyed the sight of one of his eyes and injured the other. Officials at the hospital here said that they lacked proper facilities to treat injuries of the nature Lefevre suffered and he was removed to a hospital in Hartford. Relatives who went to the Hartford hospital with the injured youth said they were encouraged by the report of an attending physician. The youth's broken nose has been placed in a cast. His badly injured eyes are bandaged and physicians were unable to say what effect the injuries would have on his eyesight.
