Full Text
In the act of confederation of the new Rhenish League, there is an article, according to which all neighbouring princes, who may wish in future to join the confederation, shall be admitted into it. In place of the Royal dignity, the Prince of Baden and the Landgrave of Hesse Darmstadt will assume that of Grand Duke, and being entitled "their Royal highnesses."
Baden receives the sovereignty over the territories of the Prince of Leiningen, and Furstenberg; Bavaria and Wurtemberg share between them Suabia and Franconia; Darmstadt receives Friedburg; Prince Joachim four fifths of the territory of Nassau, the remainder of which falls to the share of the Prince of Nassau-Weilburg.
The deputies of the new states will assemble at Frankfort on the Maine, on the 1st of September; Napoleon may be present in person.
Since the conclusion of peace between France and Russia, the fears of a new breach between France and Austria are wholly dissipated; and it is hoped that the consequences will be seen in the altered movements of the troops, as soon as the treaty of peace is ratified by Russia. It is also expected that Austria will then give its assent to the Federation of the Rhine.
