INDUSTRIAL BUREAU FOR CITY APPROVED

The City club at its regular luncheon approved a report of the committee on community building, advocating the establishment of a municipal industrial bureau, the expense of which is to be included in the annual budget. No estimate of the cost was submitted. The action of the club will be reported to the members of the incoming city administration some time after the first of the year.

Col. A. S. Frost, for the committee on education, reported in favor of the separation of the sexes in the public schools in the grades including those pupils between the ages of 12 and 15 years. The report was discussed, and a wide divergence of views was found. The question will be taken up at next Saturday's meeting.

At the suggestion of L. S. Lake, the pending appraisal of realty in Memphis and Shelby county, for state assessment and taxation purposes, was referred to the committee on revenues and expenditures, of which John M. Dean is chairman.
