The Wireless to Hilo

Last evening the Wireless Telegraph Co. notified The Advertiser that its service was open to Hilo. This paper at once ordered a message from its agent there covering the day's events. Up to 2 a. m. nothing was heard from the company and it is to be presumed that the message, if sent through, elicited no response. If there is any truth in the story of an officer of the Aorangi that light ashes fell on the deck of that steamer 200 miles distant from Honolulu, the operations of the wireless may have been disturbed by seismic action. However, this paper puts but little credence in the Aorangi yarn, which failed of corroboration on board.
