RUSSIA.

Petersburgh, Dec. 15. A statement of our forces is now in circulation here, which shews to what degree of power we are arrived since the time of Peter I. Our land troops, not including the light troops, which amount to 100,000 men, are in number 260,000. Our marine consists of 48 ships of the line, or armed ships: twelve others are on the Black Sea. The population of the empire amounts to 12,428,428 adults. In the year 1765 we could only reckon 10,821,826, so that in 20 years the population is augmented by 2,346,306, that is, more than a fifth. The revenue of the empire amounts to 40 millions of rubles, and the annual expenses amount only to 35,000,000.
