North Eastern Boundary. It is said that Lord Ashburton, the special Minister from England, holds ample power for the adjustment of all the difficulties in the Boundary question, and that he has made overtures to that end to the Secretary of State. It is reported, moreover, and credited among the best informed, that Mr. Webster has communicated the state of the case to Gov. Fairfield of Maine, and that the Legislature of that State will be called together shortly, to deliberate upon the question. The settlement of the boundary of Maine, settles also the boundary of New Hampshire we presume At any rate it is a matter of so little consequence to us here—a mere trifle of half a dozen townships in extent of territory, and very sparsely populated, that we apprehend his excellency Gov. Page, or his more enterprising successor, will hear little of it officially until the question of jurisdiction shall have been determined.

By the way, have the expenses of the Indian Stream war ever been refunded by the General Government?
