Full Text
And our weather-wise Chris, the Ides of July and Montgomery Queen's big show are coming? Has the fire of primitive patriotism clean burned out and its very ashes resolved into intangible nothings? To-day is the 17th. To-morrow will be the 18th. As you'll know. Christmas won't interrogate you as to what you've done for your country during the pleasant summer weather. If this message don't get no ocular appendage, vociferously demonstrate its unqualified approbation, of the convict of the man who invented the 4th of July, we shall be constrained to give private expression to our suppressed and antagonistic feelings, through the medium of the press, and we would much prefer thusing with Mt. Etna bombs and Chinese crackers.
