Of the latter, I have met with a great variety, unknown in my opinion, to Linnaeus himself.
In about six weeks we expect to be upon the banks of the Ohio. A more agreeable country will, I flatter myself, intervene, before we arrive at the river; for the place we are now in is extremely mountainous, and in a very rude state.
We have just received information of the murder of two white men by the Indians, at the mouth of another creek; at present: but should our situation be found dangerous, proper measures will be taken for our protection."
