THE GREENBACK CONVENTION.
SPEARVILLE, Oct. 25th, 1878.
In pursuance to a call for a meeting of the Greenback Labor party and all others friendly to the cause were invited to assist in placing before the people of Ford County, suitable persons as candidates to fill the different offices of State and County: whereupon Charles E. Warren was called to the chair. On motion it was decided unanimously to stand by the Greenback State ticket, and to endorse E. M. Wright for Representative and M. W. Sutton for County Attorney: also A. H. Harris for Superintendent of Public Instruction; after which the following names were suggested and nominated:
For Probate Judge—N. B. Klaine.
For District Clerk—Charles V. Roden.
For Coroner—Lloyd Shinn.
For Commissioner, 1st District—W. H. Van Voorhis.
For Township Trustee—R. B. Fry.
For Township Treasurer—Reuben E. Shuman.
For Justice of the Peace—J. A. Torline.
For Township Clerk—W. D. Ross.
For Constables—John W. Keith and C. H. Zimmerman.
For Road Overseer—G. A. W. Boedecker.
On motion the meeting adjourned.

The people will vote for honest and competent men, which means votes for Wright and Sutton. The question is what will be their majorities.
