Mississippians of all ages are in for six fun-filled days starting Monday, October 10, when once again the Mississippi State Fair opens in Jackson. Continuing through Saturday, October 15, the Fair will offer entertainment, education and excitement for all.

Agricultural and industrial displays and exhibits from every section of the State will be featured in addition to prize-winning livestock, poultry, arts and crafts, food preservation and other displays.

Again this year, the Fair will have as its chief entertainment attraction the gigantic Royal American Shows midway with 50 shows and rides. Among the exciting rides this year will be the world's largest portable Roller Coaster, the thrilling Tilt-A-Whirl, the Wild Mouse, the Round-Up and the fascinating Rotor Ride.

A standard popular favorite among the shows, "Harlem in Havana" will return this year with a completely different and new show. The Club Lido musical revue, featuring highly talented entertainers, singers, dancers and comedians, is the sensational musical extravaganza featured at this year's fair.

An outstanding western attraction at the Fair will be Blazing Six Guns with Lucky Laredo of Disneyland fame.

To aid fairgoers in planning their attendance at the Fair, the week's program of events is scheduled as follows:

Monday: Opening Day (official opening of all amusements and exhibits) and Press Day;

Tuesday: Legislators and Veterans (all veteran service organizations) Day;

Wednesday: Institutional Day (participation by State, County and Municipal Government and Civic Organizations);

Thursday: Farmer's Day, Livestock Day and Aviation Day;

Friday: School Day (children's day) and parade;

Saturday: Mississippi Travelers' Day.

A new attraction of this year's fair will be the Gospel Music Concert in the livestock judging arena Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
