Schumacher Starts for Butte To-day in the Pink of Condition.
His Anaconda Friends Confident That He Will Defeat the Famous Jap at the Race Track Sunday.
Peter Schumacher, the wrestler, last night concluded his active training and will leave for Butte this morning, where he is to wrestle the Jap at the race track next Sunday. Schumacher has been training at the plunge bath the past two weeks under the care of Ted Harrington, and is now in the pink of condition for the forthcoming match. He will strip at about 147 pounds with hardly an ounce of superfluous flesh on him anywhere.
Unusual interest is centered in the contest among the Anaconda sports and admirers of Schumacher and one and all are with him to the last and willing to gamble that he can down the Jap. As shown by the record of Schumacher, published in the Sunday issue of the STANDARD he is a wonderful wrestler and has gone up among some of the best men in the country with the greatest success. At Greco-Roman Schumacher is at his best and the Jap will find he has one of the hardest tussles of his life next Sunday. There is more or less bad blood between the two and they will come together each with a settled determination to down his opponent. Several hundred Anaconda people have said that they will go over to Butte next Sunday and witness the contest.
