ARMY BOARD.

The National Intelligencer, (says the New York Gazette) remarks, that Generals Brown, Scott and Gaines, are to form a Board of General Officers in Washington, to make the selection from the present officers of the army, made necessary by the act for reducing the army. As far as we understand the law, the officers to be reduced are—1 Major General. and staff: 2 Brigadier Generals, do: 3 Majors. 12 Captains, 12 Lieutenants. 19 second Lieutenants, 10 third Lieutenants. of Artillery: 8 Paymasters, 3 Colonels of Infantry and Riflemen, 3 Lieutenant Colonels, 5 Majors, 30 Captains, 50 Lieutenants, 16 second Lieutenants & 16 Adjutant Generals, 4 Assistant Adjutant Generals, 4 Assistant Inspector Generals, 4 Deputy Assistant Q. M. Generals. 2 Judge Advocates, and several Surgeons.
