Willard Boxelder Co., Aug. 4.-Saturday morning at 5 o'clock what might have been a serious gun accident happened here.
The Barker and Perry boys had planned a chicken hunt in the canyon. Gus and Irvin Perry were carrying a can of milk to the stand before starting, while Rufus Barker was examining his gun a short distance away; while so doing the gun was accidentally discharged and Irvin Perry fell to the ground exclaiming, "I am shot." He was carried into the house by his father and brother. Dr. Harding of Brigham was summoned and it was found that about 21 shot had struck him, most of them being lodged in the lower part of the leg. A few stray shots also struck his brother.
Dr. Harding dressed the wounds and apprehends no serious results. The wounded boy has been removed to his grandmother's home in Perry. People here are more firmly convinced than ever that if boys must hunt an older person should look after them.
