New Postmaster.—Our efficient and obliging postmaster, Wm. D. Mearns, Esq., resigned his office several weeks ago, and our townsman, Wm. H. Haskell, Esq., of the Haskell House, was appointed to fill the vacancy. Mr. Haskell's commission was received and his bond executed and approved some time ago, but he will not take charge of the post-office until the first of next month. Mr. Mearns is a member of the lumber manufacturing firm of Dees & Mearns, whose steam saw mill is located just below Lake Charles.
