Full Text

TORY.

Ever since this name was found to attract only tar, feathers and contempt, it has had no charms for any man of virtue and sense in America. It is well known what class of men have worn this odious coat, and how well it has fitted them for more than thirty years. The rightful proprietors of this unseemly garment some time past, have been sick, like the spring snake, to rid themselves of their old skin. If they can successfully rid themselves of this, and get into "another more sleek and comely, we shall congratulate their good fortune. But let them not attempt to put upon others what will only fit themselves.
