Gen. Taylor Ordered to the Command of the Western Division U. S. Army.--Orders have been received at New Orleans, says the Picayune of the 30th ult., by which the command of the Western Division of the Army is assigned to Maj. Gen. Taylor, and that of the First Department of the Division to Bvt. Brig. Gen. Brooke. Gen. Taylor will make his headquarters at Baton Rouge, or such other point as he may select, while Gen. Brooke's headquarters will continue, as at present, in New Orleans.
Taylor don't mean to resign, of course. That would displease the whigs very much.
