PORTSMOUTH, Dec. 31.

Last Wednesday the Rev. Mr. Huntington Porter was ordained a Colleague Pastor with the Rev. Mr. Parsons, over the Church of Christ in Rye.

The Rev. Dr. Haven, of Portsmouth, opened the solemnity with prayer: a serious and pertinent discourse, suitable to the occasion, was delivered by the Rev. Mr. Porter, of Bridgewater, (father of the candidate) from Luke xiv. 21, and 23. The charge was given by the Rev. Dr. Langdon, of Hampton Falls; the right-hand of fellowship by the Rev Mr. Thayer, of Hampton: and the Rev. Mr. Porter, of Roxbury, closed the solemnity with prayer. The decency and solemnity which adorned the character of a large assembly gave high pleasure to the friends of good order and religion.
