Full Text

Good, And Cool.—O. C. Hall—the brigadier general and attorney at law—formerly agent for Gwin's possessions here—has been heard more than once to say, in his most superb style, and we have heard him ourself that a Democratic Government must ever prove a failure; that it is not a true form of Government; and that he never belonged nor could ever belong, to a Democratic party. He afterwards affiliated with the Buchananites as being less Democratic than any other party in the country; and now, finding himself adrift, with the rest of the secessionists he seeks admission into the folds of the ancient and honorable Democracy, by means of Lindley's reassembling the secession committee for the same day that the Democratic committee meets; and, par bleu! he signs himself as one "long identified with the Democratic party of this State!" General, we admire you! Persevere! play it out! It's not far out, now. You can peg it this deal, and prepare to "go back to Alabama again."—Sierra Democrat.
