Students From Ten States And One Foreign Country Listed On Wiley Honor Roll

MARSHALL, Texas (SNS)

According to information released by the registrar of Wiley College ten states and one foreign country were represented on the honor and honorable mention roll by students who achieved the grade of B or more in the final examination of the season, 1936-37. Among the cities represented were: Port Arthur, Marshall, Clarksville, Pittsburgh, Galveston, Dallas, San Antonio, Longview, Carnack, Texarkana, Fort Worth, Houston, Waxahachie, Waco, El Paso, Quitman, Beaumont and Hawkins, Texas; Shawnee and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Gary Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Shreveport and Lake Charles, Louisiana, Columbia South Carolina, El Centro, California; Cotton Plant Arkansas; Vicksburg, Mississippi, East St. Louis, Illinois; and Jamaica, British West Indies.

Members of the Senior class who finished with honors were: Maurine O. Garrett, cum laude; Estella Hill, summa cum laude; Blanche A. Tilly, Thomas B. Peters, cum laude; Charles Micheaux, Juanita Hopkins, magna cum laude.
